All over the four school districts we serve with WriterCoach Connection, school bells have students streaming back to class, and we're kicking up a lot of dust ourselves as we prepare to launch our classroom writing support for another school year (our 13th!).
Teachers need time to settle into their classes (and settle their classes down!) and formulate their writing curriculum for the year, so we won't be coaching for another few weeks. But our site coordinators are already meeting with teachers to plan the coach schedule for the year.
It's another year of growth for WCC, as we launch our program for the first time in Richmond, at Richmond High, and double the number of students served at our original home, Berkeley High. Meantime, we're forming our coach teams at all the schools in between our first and our latest: King, Longfellow, and Willard Middle Schools in Berkeley; Albany Middle School; Fremont High in Oakland; El Cerrito High School; and Portola Middle School in El Cerrito. In a couple of months, we'll be doing the same at Oakland School for the Arts, in preparation for a spring program starting in February.
There's still time to sign up for free coach training, right here, so jump on in, we'd love to have you.
We're ready for action!
